Wales Rugby Squad to Tour North America Announced

Some surprises in the Wales rugby squad to tour North America in my opinion.  Great to see Gareth Owen there, the guy has a huge amount of talent, though I feel it is at outside half, not fullback where the Ospreys keep selecting him.  Chris Czekaj is also there, much to my surprise.  Great to see him come back so well for the Cardiff Blues after such a horrendous injury – but not convinced he is international quality.chris_czekaj

Other surprises include the likes of Jonathon Spratt, Rob McCusker and Josh Turnbull.  But this is a development tour so it makes sense to include some up and coming Welsh rugby youngsters.

Gavin Henson has failed to recover from his injury in time to tour, but Duncan Jones has made his comeback in time to make the squad.

All in all happy with the squad, that includes Ryan Jones as captain.  Good mix of experience and youngsters.  Let us see what Robin McBryde and Sean Holley can make of it.
