Lee Byrne Back Very Soon

Welsh and Ospreys full back is expected to be back in action very soon, at least according to team mate James Hook, who is currently occupying the full back position for Wales.
In an interview with the Western Mail, in which he again talks about his desire to play outside half, he says that Lee Byrne is expected back by the time James returns to the Liberty stadium from International duty.
“And with Lee expected back around the time I return to the Ospreys, they probably will move me back to 12. …

This is a MUST see!  Having finally got around to watching my Living with the Pride DVD a few days ago I can only say good things about it.  Forget the last couple of British Lions DVD efforts – this one puts things back on track from where we left Ian McGeechan and co back in the 90′s in the wonderful ‘Living with the Lions’ VHS.

Living With The Pride
I’m going to try be careful with this, as I don’t want to give away too much and spoil this great British …

Did the Ref Cost the British Lions the Series?

Recent interviews with both Phil Vickery and Ian McGeechan that I have been lucky enough to attend have revealed a bit of a shock.

It seems that there is a good chance that it was the referree that cost the British Lions the first test – not Phil vickery as many in Wales have been suggesting.

Both interviews had a lot of interesting rugby points that i will be covering over the next few weeks, here is the first installment – a look at whether it was the ref, not Phil Vickery, that we should be looking at as the cause for our shoddy scrummaging performance in the first lions test

It’s almost here!  The Living with the LionsBritish Lions DVD is coming out!  This is the one I have been waiting for.  The other British Lions DVD was good but this is the one we remember from before, the big one.  Remember Living with the Lions back in ’97?  This follows the same path.  And that video is the only reason I still own a VHS player!
Check out this British Lions DVD preview.  It’s getting me excited

It comes out on October 19th – and you can preorder/order it by following …

2009 British Lions DVD out

British Lions DVD
The new 2009 British Lions DVD is out, and it looks great!
I’ve been in love with these things ever since the Living with the Lions from the last South Africa tour allowed us to see behind the scenes with the lads, the laughter, banter, the speaches and the training sessions. It is amongst my most watched of DVD’s.
Whilst the last few British Lions DVD’s haven’t been as good, they simply don’t look like they’ve had as much fun, I have high expectations for this one. …

Welsh Repercussions From the British Lions Tour

Remember the problems facing the Welsh rugby camp after Graham Henry came back form leading the 2001 British Lions to Australia?

He lost the moral and trust of the dressing room – it was the beginning of the end for him as Welsh coach.

Can the same happen to Warren gatland and co following on from this British Lions tour of South Africa? After all, most of the Welsh management are out there.

Personally I don’t see the same thing happening again, here’s why.

The Ryan Jones ‘Saga’

It seems everyone and his dog is demanding answers from the Welsh rugby managment when it comes to what happened with Ryan Jones’ call up, and sending home, from the British Lions. Even Derwyn Jones is getting in on the act.

But I am not convinced that Robin McBryde, Sean Holley and co have a case to answer. It seems to me to simply be a gamble that didn’t pay off.

Wondering what I am talking about? Check out this article to understand more.

British Lions Fantasy League – The Blog Challenge

I meant to post about this before but I have been swamped with work and other issues, so forgot about it.  I have set up a league of blogs to take part in Sky’s fantasy Lions game – and its already one game old and I forgot to change my team – thankfully I already had players such as the try scoring Lee Byrne in it so despite not having half the team start the Welsh Rugby Blog came 2nd.
But anyway the idea is that there are a bunch of …
