Cardiff Blues Side vs Leinster

The Cardiff Blues have named their side to go away to Leinster on Saturday.  And to answer the inevitable question – yes it is on TV.

Leinster vs Cardiff Blues – TV Channel S4C – Saturday 11th September 2010 – 18:30BST

The side is a fairly strong one considering injuries rule out Halfpenny and Blair, not to mention Gethin Jenkins, Jamie Roberts, Paul tito and Gareth Williams.  Oh, I guess I did mention them!

The only change in the backline is Dafydd Hewitt coming in for Shanklin. Hewitt tends to divide opinion, some thinking he has a lot of potential and has been unlucky not to get more games – some seeing him as one dimensional.  For me I thought he had a lot of promise when he first came on the scene but a lack of game time means he hasn’t really kicked on and developed as I hoped.  But there is still time.  At the very least he could be the Blues’ Andrew Bishop – solid, dependable and won’t let you down, though far from exciting.

Given the relatives strengths of the two teams (below), especially at backrow and the backline this should be a good game.  But I think with the injuries the Blues have (looking especially at that front row), and the fact that they are away, they will be happy with a BP loss.  Hope they prove me wrong with a win though
