Western Mail Watch Sort of Begins
As I promised before I am looking to start up a couple of series of things to try provide me with impetuous to post more often. Since I get annoyed with the Western Mail’s God awful reporting pretty much every other day (at least) I thought Western Mail Watch would be a good place to start – looking at whatever useless article they managed to throw together without bothering about facts and then seeing what sense we can actually make of it.
So the most obvious place to start was their incessant (and rather contradictory) reporting on the Welsh enigma that is Gavin Henson.
Now, as ever, a lot can be done to twist facts in a certain direction. Indeed I gave a go to it myself to show how great Gavin Henson has been for the Ospreys. That post was slightly tongue in cheek as I was looking to counterpoint the rubbish reporting going around about him.
But in the end I haven’t had to. Not because I am lazy (though I admit I am) but because a poster called Blues-Blues (who you can follow on twitter here) has made a very good job of it over on the excellent Rugby Rebels forum. She shows, very accurately, just how the Western Mail fail to address key points and that when you read between the lines they tend to only have one fact, two at most.
Anyway get over and read this post. It is very informative.

Stephen had a good game BUT can he work on his drop-outs. It is absurd that we always end up in our own half from kick-offs. Get height and short and we have a 50/50 chance of recovery and a great attacking position …get height and long and at least they are kicking close to their line and under pressure.
As it is we end up on the defensive from every kick off…. get some height Stephen.
