Wales Rugby Squad to Tour North America Announced
Some surprises in the Wales rugby squad to tour North America in my opinion. Great to see Gareth Owen there, the guy has a huge amount of talent, though I feel it is at outside half, not fullback where the Ospreys keep selecting him. Chris Czekaj is also there, much to my surprise. Great to see him come back so well for the Cardiff Blues after such a horrendous injury – but not convinced he is international quality.
Other surprises include the likes of Jonathon Spratt, Rob McCusker and Josh Turnbull. But this is a development tour so it makes sense to include some up and coming Welsh rugby youngsters.
Gavin Henson has failed to recover from his injury in time to tour, but Duncan Jones has made his comeback in time to make the squad.
All in all happy with the squad, that includes Ryan Jones as captain. Good mix of experience and youngsters. Let us see what Robin McBryde and Sean Holley can make of it.

Nice to see Peel included and Mark Jones too! Hopefully the boys will stary somewhere down to my part of the country. It’ll be nice to catch up with a few old acquaintances.
Aye, good to see the experienced boys there – Mark Jones has been playing especially well recently.
Surprised to see Czekaj and Mustoe in the squad, yet no room for Dragons’ Richard Fussell. Certainly think that Fussell has more potential than the other two, put in some very good performances for the Dragons.
jamie robinson should be in the squad, he’s very underated. very dissapointed

Was very pleased with some of the younger more inexperienced caps especially with Craig Mitchell who seemed to be very agressive in all the right ways around the field! his ball carrying, strength, and cleaning out was outstanding and was very unlucky not to score against the canadians! needs more regional rugby and i feel thoroughly deserves it! Definately a bonus hes a tight head where we seem to struggle! look forward to seeing more of this lad!!
