Cardiff Blues vs The Scarlets – Teams Announced

Both sides have announced their teams for Wednesdays game.

None of the 5 remaining Cardiff Blues players (after Tom Shanklins injury) are in the squad, whilst the Scarlets name their two British Lions, Stephen Jones and Matthew Rees, on the bench.

To be honest both teams are fielding weak looking sides so I’m not expecting too much by way of intensity. But it will be interesting to see some of the players that have been named in the Welsh squad in action – I admit I know very little about McCusker whilst Czekaj gets some game time on the wing after filling in at full back against Munster.

Blues: Ben Blair; Richard Mustoe, Jamie Robinson, Gareth Thomas, Chris Czekaj; Ceri Sweeney, Richie Rees; John Yapp, T Rhys Thomas, Faao Filise, Bradley Davies, Deiniol Jones, Ben White, Robin Sowden-Taylor (capt), Maama Molitika.
Replacements: Gary Powell, Ross Johnston, James Down, Scott Morgan, Darren Allinson, Dai Flanagan, Nicky Robinson.

Scarlets: Daniel Evans; Darren Daniel, Rob Higgitt, Jon Davies, Lee Williams; Rhys Priestland, Gavin Cattle; Phil John, Ken Owens, Deacon Manu, Lou Reed, Dominic Day, Dafydd Jones, Rob McCusker, David Lyons (capt).
Replacements: Iestyn Thomas, Matthew Rees, Aaron Shingler, Simon Easterby, Martin Roberts, Stephen Jones, Ceiron Thomas.
