Ian Evans has a torn pectoral

Ospreys and Wales 2nd row Ian Evans has torn a pectoral muscle.  The injury plagued rugby star has only just come back from close to a year out following an injury when playing for Wales against New Zealand in last year’s autumn internationals.

The pectoral tear was picked up early in the Welsh Premiership top of the table clash between Swansea and Pontypridd, with Ian Evans playing for Swansea to get some game time as part of his comeback from injury.

Whilst we are still waiting to hear the doctors tell us how long they expect Ian Evans to be out injured similar injuries have meant 3 to 6 months out of the game for many players.  Indeed John Yapp, the Cardiff Blues loose heap prop, tore his bicep in the Blues vs Quins Heineken Cup match over the weekend and is expected to miss about 4 months of rugby.

This is another set back for the Ospreys who have been suffering injury after injury in the last few season.  Stars such as Gavin Henson and Duncan Jones are currently unavailable, and we are also waiting for results on Lee Byrne who went off injured in the Ospreys vs Leicester game.
