Michael Owen Out For 9 Months
Ex-Welsh number 8 Michael Owen has injured his knee. The knee ligament damage puts him out of action for an expected 9 months – ruling him out for the entire rugby season.
A big loss to Saracens but Owen has been out of the international picture for a long time – with players like Ryan Jones, Gareth Delve and of course Andy Powell ahead of him in the pecking order for Wales.
“The decision has been taken to repair the ligament as Michael still has many years of rugby ahead of him,” said Saracens boss Brendan Venter to the BBC.
“Michael is an important player for us and it is disappointing news.
“However, injuries do occur and it is one of the reasons why we believe in a rotation policy.”
