Hensons misses out on Heineken cup rugby
Heineken cup games starting on Sunday away in Leicester.
But Welsh rugby super star Gavin Henson won’t be there. Great. Rumours abound as to the reasons but the major one seems to be that he was going to be dropped for the ospreys anyway and told to play for Swansea to get more game time. He then missed the Swansea training session and failed to report to the next Ospreys session as well.
This is just a rumour but I have to wonder why, if he needed game time, Holley was talking about using him as a stop gap 13 this week. Also what sort of thinking puts him playing for Swansea where he just makes himself a target for any Welsh Premiership player looking to make a name for himself.
If it is true he should be disciplined because, no matter what you think of a decision, you still have to respect the coaches leadership. However which ever daft thinking spud-head (trying to keep the wordage PG) thought Henson would be best off with the Whites should be fired on the spot. he was good enough to play against Harlequins where he played decently. Combined with Bishop looking like an idiot this season and our having to use an out of position Bowe for 13 I would have thought someone with Gavs ability should be first on them team sheet, and I don’t mean for Swansea.
Gavin Henson is sometimes his own worst enemy, no doubt, but he is someone with a huge amount of rugby talent and so we should be looking to man manage him, not treat him like a leper. Hore has to look now and decide what he is trying to do with the Ospreys and whether Holley is up to it.
Personally I suspect not.
