Congratulations Garin Jenkins

Not sure how but it seems that the news of Garin Jenkins getting a new job within the Ospreys has passed me by.  A few days away form the computer and apparently the world doesn’t stop for you, who’d have thought it!

Garin is now in charge of developing elite talent at the Ospreys – or at least that’s how I read it.  Check out this article on the ospreys website and make up your own mind!

The reason I wanted to say congratulations is simply because Garin Jenkins is  huge hero of mine.  As a kid playing in Mumbles, School and Swansea age groups he used to come to numerous training sessions and help coach us – displaying a patience and connection with the kids that i am sure many saints would lack.

He knew how to relate to children, how to get them to do what he wanted and always explained why we were doing things.  A natural youth coach.

So it is great for him to continue (as he has been doing) helping to develop young talent.  As a player and as a coach he was a great Welsh rugby hero of mine – I wish him all the best.
