You would think that with the two big Welsh rugby derbies happening this weekend, and the Welsh rugby squad to be announced on Sunday, that I would be eagerly writing on anything and everything to do with rugby in Wales. Well I am but that is not what has excited me the most.
As we all know the Welsh love sheep, why else would there be a stereotype if there’s not? Having lived in England I have heard every Welsh joke under the sun and, much to the surprise …

The Scarlets have named their team to take on the Newport-Gwent Dragons this weekend. No major surprises in the squad with Dafydd Jones continuing at openside flanker as one of the many players with Welsh hopes ahead of the Welsh squad for the autumn internationals being named on Sunday.
Other players with Welsh rugby hopes include Martyn Roberts the scrum half, who with Mike Phillips injured, Dwayne Peel potentially unavailable for the New Zealand game and the poor form of Gareth Cooper must certainly be in the thoughts of the Welsh …

Well everyone else seemed to be getting in on the fun so I wanted to play ‘back a 15 too’. Nigel Davies down at the Scarlets suggests that Dan Evans is the right man to replace the injured Lee Byrne, Dai Young has come out saying that Leigh Halfpenny is the man for the job despite not really playing there much) and Sean Holley assures us that ‘Bazza’, Barry Davies, is the man to replace Byrne for Wales as well as the Ospreys.
At this rate Dicky Webster is going to …

Some awful news for the Ospreys and Wales, and of course Mike Phillips himself. The Welsh and British Lions scrum half is out injured for the next 10-12 weeks following his injury against Clermont Auvergne. He suffered ligament damage in his ankle and his leaving the game coincided with the Osprey’s collapse that they were lucky to escape with a win – despite being 19 points up at half time.
With Jamie Nutbrown also out injured for 10 weeks after picking up a knee injury in the same game …

I have seen a number of people asking the question ‘when will the Welsh squad for the autumn internationals be announced’ so, being the kind, caring (and bored – it’s either do this or actually work) individual that I am I thought I would let you know…
It’s being announced on Sunday.
Which means that this weekend the players are going to be playing for their places. Scrum half especially is up for grabs now that Mike Phillips has been ruled out of the Welsh squad – Dwayne Peel has come …
Heineken Cup, International, News, Ospreys »
Mike Phillips has been injured playing for the Ospreys today in their Heineken cup win against ASM Clermont Auvergne. The extent of the injury is unknown but there is a worry that he will be out of the Welsh autumn internationals (and the Barbarians game against New Zealand).
Mike Phillips is due to have a scan on his ankle on Monday, right now the Ospreys are unsure if it is bone or ligament damage that forced the British Lion scrum half off the field.
Sean Holley spoke to the press after …

Because that is what is happening at London Welsh today. They are having a happy hour 12.20-1.30, at 1.30 they are having a charity sevens match and then 25% of the tickets (priced at £12 …

Cardiff Blues, International, News »
It’s happening – Cardiff Blues are going to be taking on Australia on the 24th of November. No word yet as to whether it is Australia or ‘Australia A’, presumably they will wait to see the result as they did after the Ospreys beat them a few years back (a great day in my opinion, but I may be slightly biased).
But a great coup for the Blues, bringing in the two times rugby World Champions gives a guaranteed sell out – which at the Leckwith should mean a huge amount …

What is it the Ospreys are blaming their fans for? Pretty much everything actually. Their way of trying to get them back to the stadium, following poor attendance figures, is to slag them off. Now that takes a special level of marketing knowledge… but I am not sure it’s going to work. OK, what I mean is ‘what a stupid idea that shows the contempt that the Ospreys seem to have for their fans’.
The Ospreys have been doing some good stuff for their fans to be …
