Cardiff Blues, Magners league, News »
The Cardiff Blues have named their side for the Welsh rugby derby match vs the Scarlets, including Sam Norton-Knight – which should cheer up a lot of cardiff fans (not).
That half back combination is enough to make a grown man cry.

The Ospreys have named their side to take on Glasgow in the Magners league, including James Hook at 12 and Dan Biggar at 10, whilst Jerry Collins has to bench.
Likely to wind Hook up but personally this side intrigues me, will be very interested to see what it can do

Who here reads the Guardian? If you do you may have come across this wonderful rugby article yesterday.
Of course when I say wonderful I mean shockingly thought out, ill consideration of facts and desperately floundering for examples to try validate their own point of view.
I may lay into the Western Mail a lot but at leats they haven’t, to my knowledge, felt the need to tell us how to ‘fix rugby’ as if there was something very wrong with it. The Guardian have however, and they did it without thought or effort.
Read on to understand why I couldn’t care less about the Guardian’s rugby commentary any more.

I can’t believe it! No, I haven’t turned into Victor Meldrew (though bald and grouchy are pretty much spot on), what I can’t believe is that there are no Lee Byrne adverts to be had anywhere on the net. I would have thought by now someone would have got them onto YouTube.
You know, the really, really awful sell your gold ones where he looks as natural as Pamela Andersons chest (though nowhere near as good). I would have thought the swimming pool one at least would have …

It’s true, his holiness the Pope, named something like Benedict even though his parents preffered calling him something else is going to be visi…. no I don’t care either. But apparently it is big news.
In the mean time here’s a Lee Byrne video, just to keep things vaguely Welsh rugby (had hoped to put that stupid advert he does up for a laugh at him but can’t find it anywhere)

Anyone got a nice pair of heavy size 12′s? If so please line up to give Welsh rugby a kick – smug attitude essential.
At least that is how ex British Lions and Irish lock Donal Lenihan comes across in this interview. He feels the need to tell us he is worried by Welsh rugby and that he is confused by Welsh rugby.
Fair enough, me too. But to then smugly go on about the preseason games for the Irish regions and how well they are doing at bringing in youngsters without actually addressing some other facts is a little naughty (for which read, being smug pillock).
What am I going on about? Read this rugby blog post to find out

So what is happenign with the Ospreys? Abject performances, no real change and a lack of cohesion and even basic rugby.
James Hook is out of sorts, the breakdown is a mess, the centers can’t, or won’t, pass and there seems to be no real game plan. The ‘O’s’ season looks like it is going to fall apart before it even gets going. Which when you consider teh number of British Lions and Welsh rugby internationals is a very worrying thing.
So where do they go from here?

The only game that I caught in the Magners League this weekend was the Cardiff Blues vs Edinburgh game
To be honest I almost wish I hadn’t!
Gareth Cooper and Sam Norton-Knight were both especially awful but few can claim to have any sort of form.
But not every player had a bad game, not everything is negative. Read on to see why I think there are positives for Cardiff Blues

An enire summer of Welsh rugby news, rumours and infighting – all condensed into one rambling post.
Want facts and figures? Me too, but we never get them in Wales – we have the Western Mail instead.
Instead here are my opinions, my rantings and my rubbish writing – saved up all summer for this one post.
Read if you dare.
